Bradley S. Williams

Managing Partner

Mr. Williams is a dynamic, results-oriented leader. He has an exceptional history of creating value while effectively managing risk. In his position as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Williams is responsible for the implementation of Talon’s strategy and the integration of its highly capable team members.  The experience he gained as a founding partner of Elephant Oil & Gas serves him well with respect to these duties.

Mr. Williams co-founded Elephant in 2006 and spent the next six years building the company into a successful privately owned oil and gas operator. Under his leadership, Elephant implemented a lease-and-drill strategy targeting unconventional prospects in the Fort Worth Basin, the Midland Basin and the Delaware Basin. Individual deal metrics reached as high as 7.24x return on investment with internal rates of return well above 1,000%.

Elephant began its involvement with the Talon team through a merger of Elephant and Talon Oil & Gas II in 2012. The company is currently focused on Southeast Texas where Elephant is in a 130,000-acre joint venture with Venado Oil & Gas, primarily targeting the Eagle Ford shale.

Mr. Williams’ career in oil and gas began in Arkansas, where he worked as a petroleum landman acquiring leasehold in the Fayetteville Shale. Under the tutelage of a well-respected industry veteran, he and several of his associates assembled close to 100,000 acres retaining a sizeable override. Mr. Williams helped to represent the group in negotiating the sale of the non-producing override at an impressive valuation.

Prior to entering the oil and gas industry Mr. Williams worked in finance and real estate. Mr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Association of Professional Landmen, the Dallas Petroleum Club, the Dallas Wildcat Committee and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
